Welcome

If you're a traditional musician, or a music lover, there's only one place to be on Monday night. Come and visit us at SWAMP Creative Media Centre, Barnbeth Road, Pollok - and take part in an evening of entertainment and tuition. Everyone's welcome: we cater for complete beginners as well as seasoned performers, and our age range is from pre-school to pensioners - and everything between.

The group has been on the go for 18 years. As a branch of Comhaltas, we take part in concerts and competitions in Britain and in Ireland. We have our own Ceilí Band - who regularly get toes tapping (and floors bouncing) around Glasgow, and further afield.

The emphasis at St. James' has always been on teaching.

Our younger members are currently learning to play tin whistle, flute, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, uilleann pipes, harp, piano accordion, button accordion, bodhran, drums, concertina, guitar, piano, bozouki ... to name but a few!

We're also lucky to have some excellent singers of traditional Irish ballads, always willing to pass on their skills. We hope you find what you're looking for on our website.

If you want to know more about our branch or if you would like to learn to play a musical instrument, please get in touch.
Oh... and don't forget to sign the guestbook!
